Year 5 Egyptian Day
On April 21st Children in Year 5 stepped back in time to 5000 years ago and enjoyed a fun-filled Egyptian workshop day.
Costumes were given to each child to wear for the day while they participated in a range of carousel activities. Children mummified Oscar from 5 Griffin after pretending to remove organs to demonstrate the Egyptian rituals. Weaving was great fun and making cartouches was enjoyed by all. Hieroglyphics were drawn on bookmarks and classes competed against each other at ‘The Great Dig’ where imaginations ran wild searching for valuable artefacts in the pyramids.
It really was a super day and a great learning experience for our children.
